Strengthening Regional Cooperation: Kakehashi Joins Cross-Regional Forum in Taipei

Kakehashi had the honor of participating in an important Cross-Regional Forum in Taipei (October 23-24, 2024) focused on promoting rights of people on the move in East and Southeast Asia. The forum, organized by BEBESEA (Better Engagement Between East and Southeast Asia) – a regional network promoting cooperation between civil society organizations in both regions, brought together about 50 representatives from 14 countries of various civil society organizations and rights advocates.

We are grateful to BEBESEA for the invitation to join this significant gathering. The forum provided an excellent opportunity to network with fellow organizations working on migrant rights, refugee protection, and human rights advocacy. Through meaningful discussions on regional migration challenges and democratic spaces, participants strengthened collaborative ties to better support migrant communities in the region.
